There is an illegal market of fake biodegradable or compostable carrier bags which get around existing European regulations by reutilising polluting materials for their production and providing false certification. It is a business worth hundreds of millions of euros. The criminal organisations that run this business have forced their control over several local markets, imposing the purchase of their own carrier bags. Together with our partner Don’t Movie, we have designed and produced a video that describes this phenomenon for Legambiente. The actor Fortunato Cerlino, fresh from his success in the TV series Gomorra, offered to do the voiceover on this theme for a video watched on various forms of social media by over a million viewers.
